John Lamb, Founder of Handle University
Former Division 1 guard John Lamb founded Handle University in the spring of 2016 to bring basic ball handling skills back to basketball.
Many of Handle University’s principles were developed over the last 10+ years while working with students of all levels. Coach Lamb has a variety of experience, including NCAA Division 1 training experiences at all three levels – Low Major, Mid Major, and High Major levels. He is also able to add a professional dynamic to his workouts because of his time spent training players overseas and in the NBA.

Hey my name is Lai Pham, this is my first year at Beyond Ball. I have been involved with the youth community for years now which consist of jobs at the YMCA as a youth sports coordinator, Boys and Girls Club as a youth development programmer, and even helped coached Roosevelt Girls Basketball in their summer camps. I am also an alumni basketball player at Roosevelt High School as well, after that pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Health: Human Sciences with an option of Exercise Science at Iowa State University. Beyond Ball has become a second home really fast for me, I enjoy seeing the youth develop not even in their basketball careers but as young responsible individuals. I love teaching and providing the ultimate best advice to these kids as the go on to the real world since they are the future. I love the reciprocated energy that Beyond Ball brings and is here to stay! Now I am blessed with a position at Handle University as an Executive Director.

Responsibilities/Duties:
– Help assist and complete other duties assigned by leadership
– Make decisions in high volume environment in a professional manner
– Social media and marketing manager
– Ability to deal effectively with players and coaches
– Develop strategy and preserve order in all media content and Handle University
– Train clients to develop skills in basketball and maintain relationships within the company
– Establish management and objectives of company
– Oversees performance of other staff and assists where is necessary
– Manage schedules and communications of key company executives for Beyond Ball and Handle University
– Prioritize emails, phone calls, and gather documents to prepare meeting and coordinate any arrangements within company

Serving as Chief Operating Officer and a certified USA basketball head coach at Beyond Ball.
Personal basketball trainer at Handle University
Coached basketball at AAU level for past 10 years and most recently at Beyond Ball for past 4. Won multiple championships with 15U and 16U high school teams.
Born and raised Puerto Rican (Boriqua) with athletic background in boxing, baseball, volleyball and basketball.
Coaching is a privilege to help youth get to where they want to go. Coaching is not only about basketball but an outlet to provide a positive impact on ones life. I live by the quote “If you decide to do anything in life, do it well. If you can’t or don’t want to do it, better don’t start at all.”

This is my first year coaching for Beyond Ball. I graduated high school from Clarion-Goldfield Dows before going to play for DMACC and now Simpson College. I am currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education & Health, so I believe in setting students up for success in the classrooms, on the basketball court and all other aspects of lives. Beyond Ball is a great organization because of the work ethic of everybody involved; from the staff to players, everybody encourages each other to approach each day with a positive mindset to improve their basketball skills. I’ve loved every second of working with this organization as a whole and I can’t wait for many more years of helping our athletes become basketball players and individuals.
